Põhjalikult räägiti muidugi igasugustest akadeemilistest petturlustest ja nende tagajärgedest, mis olid ilmselgelt tagatud riigieelarveliste kohtade tekkest ning see tõttu kontrolli karmistamisest. Loeng tekkitas tunde, et innovatsioon on väga oluline majandus maastikul läbi löömiseks ja ilma selleta ei saa eriti hakka, kui just ei tee mingit spetsiifilist tööd. Mujalt uudistest ja kaasaegsest meedia maastikust on ka näha, et üritatakse leida inovaatilisi lahendusi, millega tihiti väga hästi hakkama ei saada, sest leiutatakse jalgrattast uuesti ja uuesti. Midagi millest mul polnud aimugi oli näiteks näide Venemaa interneti äride sõjast, kus suured domeenid said päevas mittmeid raskeid rünnakuid enda serverite pihta, mis on võrreldavad Eesti vastu korraldatud küber rünnakutega. Kuna see teema hakkas mind hirmsasti huvitama uurisin selle kohta hiljemgi ja tulemuseks oli NoScripti installimine. Siis oli tõepoolest näha, kuidas mingile saidile sisenedes kümned välised saidid ja teenused nõudsid ligi pääsu browserile ja tahtsid sinna enda cookiesid ja muid scripte käivitada. Hirmu äratavaks osutus see, et võrreldes esimeste viirustega, mis tegid "nalja" ja olid meelge nähtava, siis täna päeva viirused, wormid ja trojad on kõik nähtamatud või vähemalt üritavad. Nende eesmärk pole enam teha "nalja", et poliitilisi vaatenurki teistele näidata vaid röövida raha ja tihti peale halbade eesmärkide tarvis ära kasutada, näiteks rahastada terrorismi ning sellega saadakse väga lihtsasti hakkama. Veel üks muret tekkitav aspekt oli see, et viiruse tõrjed tõrjuvad mingit viirust alles siis, kui talle on selgeks tehtud, kuidas seda viirust ära tunda, aga see tähendab, et hetkeks, kui viirusetõrje suudab viiruse tuvastada, on teine tükk aega juba ringi mässanud. Rääkimatta ei saa jätta ka suure USA luure poolt tehtud viirusest, mis näitas viiruse sobilikust relvana. Õppimise koha pealt tõi Andres Käver näiteks ise ennast, kuidas ta kõik kodutööd enne aegselt valmis tegi, et õppejõududelt täiendavat infot parema hinde saamiseks saada. Sammuti mainis ta ka paar päris hirmsat fakti, mis tekitasid kõhedust, näiteks, kui matemaatilises analüüsis 100% ei saa, siis ei ole mõtet IT-ga tegeleda. Minu arust see nõu nii tähtis ei ole, sest muidu käik IT Kolledzis ainult peotäis inimesi, mingi sugune eksimis võimalus tuleb inimestele anda, aga eesmärgiks saad 100% igas aines on iseenesest mõisteteav ja täiesti aksepteeritav. Huvitav arutelu palkade üle IT valdkonnas pani ka mõtted jooksma ehk kui professionaal teeb mingi töö ära 1000 euro eest, sellel kohal tõi ta näiteks jälle ennast, kuidas ta televisioonile mingisuguseid rakkendusi teeb, ja tudeng, kes osakab ka midagi teha ja vajab raha, teeb sama töö 100 euro eest ära, mis on selle tagajärjed ja kõrge hinna põhjused. Põhimõttest sain siiski aru, kuidas süsteemide testimine käib ja kui pingeline tegelikult suurte teenuste administreerimine tegelikult on. Isiklikult on mul ka kogemus sellistes asjades kõrval seisjana olemas seega väikene seos tekkis selle teemaga, nimelt suvel töötas sadamas kontrolöörina, aga kuna kõik oli digitaalselt teostatud juhtus päris tihti, et süsteemid jooksid kokku ja teadsin täpselt mitu korda päevas süsteemi administraatorile helistati, see oli üpriski jube, sest pühade ajal temal küll puhkevõimalust polnud, kuna suured rahvamassid, mis rändasid saaremaale keerasid tihti süsteemi tuksi ja parandada oskas ainult tema, ka kell 1 öösel helistati talle ja hommikul kell 5.
