DD-WRT on vabavaraline püsivara (firmware) ruuteritele, millest on ka tasuline versioon. Kõige rohkem kasutatakse DD-WRT'd Linksys WRT54G, WRT54GL ja WRT54GS seadmetes, mis on minimalistliku Linuxi põhise operatsioonisüsteemiga. Alates 2005. aastast kannab WRT54G seade, millele saab sisse laadida DD-WRT'd ning muid vabavaralisi püsivarasi, nimetust WRT54GL (L - Linux). DD-WRT'd kasutatakse tootjapoolse püsivara piiratud võimaluste tõttu. DD-WRT on avaldatud GPL v2.0 litsentsi all.
DD-WRT võimaldab kasutada seadmes Kai võrku, Daemoni põhiseid teenuseid, IPv6't, WDS'i, RADIUS't, QoS'i, raadio väljundvõimsuse reguleerimist, overclock'st ja tarkvaralist tuge SD kaardi raudvara modifikatsioonile. Buffalo Technology ja muud firmad, on tootnud seadmeid, kuhu on eelinstalleeritud kohandatud versioon DD-WRT'st.
